The following press release was sent out by Hrane, YT1AD,
on June 8th (edited): "DXpedition to Rotuma as 3D2R -- After many months
of careful planning, we are pleased to announce our DXpedition to Rotuma-
3D2R with a large multi-national DXpedition Team. Rotuma is located in
the South Pacific Ocean and is #32 on Club Log's most wanted DXCC list.
Hrane Milosevic, YT1AD, has recently visited Fiji and has obtained the license of 3D2R and a landing permit. We have received the Rotuma Island Council's official approval as well as from the Prime Minister's Office.
The team of 19 operators will meet in Fiji on September 24th, and sail to Rotuma with an arrival slated for September 27th. We will be active on all bands and modes from September 27th to October 7th, 2011.
We will focus on the low bands at this time of the year and will make every effort to satisfy the needs of EU operators.
At this time, we are seeking Foundation, Club and Individual Sponsors to help us defray the costs of carrying out this DXpedition. Our official website is:

day" operation under canvas no towers or comfy resort style shacks
and no Internet! More details are expected soon on:

DXCC NEWS
Bill Moore, NC1L, Awards Branch Manager, reports that the
following are approved for DXCC credit:
TJ9PF Cameroon; 2011 Operation. Special Note: "We have been notified that the TJ9PF QSL labels have been printed with the year 2001 instead of 2011. This is a known software bug that has been fixed. Regardless, we do not believe the integrity of the TJ9PF logs or operation are affected by this printing error. Also, the TJ9PF logs have now been uploaded to LoTW, providing a primary source of QSO confirmations. We will add instructions to the DXCC system internally to note this operation's correct year. No one wants to promote the wasting of resources to reprint labels or cards, or to require resending of cards to fix an error which has little effect on the program. DXCC will accept TJ9PF QSLs showing the date as 2001.
VK0KEV Macquarie Island; 2011 Operation. If you’ve had this operation rejected in a recent application please send a note to dxcc@arrl.org . You can verify the update to your record either by checking your LoTW account, or, you’ll see a change in the live daily listing on the DXCC web site.

Bruce, ZL1AAO, informs OPDX
(edited):
"I am preparing for some part-time DX operation/holiday-style

and has been promised to me (Pick up the license on arrival). I will be
promoting my activity through DX groups and local radio clubs/groups. I
will be on the island for 10 days from August 19-28th. The property I am
staying at is located on Muri beach, a popular resort area. It will be
our first visit to Rarotonga, so the usual tourist activities will be on
the agenda with radio number two on my itinerary. Anyone who has been
there before and can give helpful advice will be much appreciated.

ST0, SOUTHERN SUDAN
The following press release (Bulletin #3) was sent
out on June 6th (edited): "DXpedition to Southern Sudan -- The Intrepid-DX
Group and the DX Friends/Tifariti Gang continues to move forward with our
plans to activate the new country of Southern Sudan with a large multi-
national DXpedition.
We have held several successful meetings with representatives of the Government of Southern Sudan. We have been issued an amateur radio license for the purpose of this DXpedition. The Government of South Sudan is very supportive of our plans to visit Juba and to help them celebrate the birth of their new country.
The Government of South Sudan will declare their independence from Sudan on July 9th, 2011. They have applied to the UN for admission as a member state. The UN General Assembly and Security Council will vote on the matter in the weeks following the declaration of independence.
While there have been attacks and fighting in the disputed border region of Abyei, these issues are not expected to derail the emergence of this new country.
We plan to be in the new capital of Juba and to be ready to start our DXpedition upon admission by the UN. We will have 18 operators operating 24X7 on seven active stations.
At this time, we are seeking Foundation, Club and Individual Sponsors
to help us defray the costs of carrying out this DXpedition.
