Activity from both locations will be on 40-6 meters using CW and SSB. QSL via N7RO, EU stations via UA9OBA.

NA-152. Chuck, KL7OH, has plans to activate Sarichef Island between August 1-15th. He will use 100 watts into a Carolina Windom. Dates are subject to change.

NA-232. (New IOTA Rescheduled!) Yuri, N3QQ, and other Russian Robinson Club members who were expected to activate St. Matthew Island, Alaska, as KL7RRC this summer, have now rescheduled their operation in 2012 (July 25th-August 15th). According to their Web page, the team has received the official permission from U.S.F.W.S. to go the island. Tim, NL8F, in Dutch Harbour, is currently looking for alternative transportation options. They mention that they have several spaces available on the boat and if you would like to participate in the expedition to St. Matthew Island, please Contact Yuri Zaruba, UA9OBA via QRZ.ru or send E-mail to n3qq@NA-234.com. For more details and updates, visit:

http://www.na-234.com

NA-242. Operators Rick/K6VVA and Mike/K9AJ will activate for the first time ever Point Lay Barrier Island as K6VVA/KL7 between July 22-26th. QSL route is ONLY via N6AWD (direct or by the Bureau) - DO NOT send QSLs to K6VVA!!! Activity will be primarily CW on 40/30/20/17 meters. Dates may change slightly depending upon local WX. The objective is a minimum of 3 days of activity within the indicated date range. There is a slight possibility for a brief NA-172 activation as K9AJ/KL7 right after NA-242 before they leave the North Slope of Alaska. Updates will be posted to the "Latest News" section of the NA-242 Expedition Web site:

http://www.k6vva.com/iota/na242
Due to the possibility of polar bears at NA-242, they have purchased electric bear fences, bear spray, and must hire one or more local "Bear Guards" with heavy firepower for 24/7 protection. This will be a dangerous and extremely costly IOTA expedition -- due mostly to the air transport- ation of equipment. NA-242 in July is "The Main Event" after K6VVA warmup expeditions to NA-184 (April), NA-066 (May with NI6T) and NA-091 (June with W6NV).

J7, DOMINICA
Mike, VE2XB, will be active as J79XB from Dominica (NA-101) starting July 6th for several weeks. Activity will be on all bands and possibly 6m. QSL via VE2XB ((QRZ.com) address).

KH8, AMERICAN SAMOA
Currently, plans are being made for a DXpedition to American Samoa (KH8) to take place between November 17-28th, inclusive for the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 26-27th) possibly as a SOAB, Multi- Single, or Multi-2 category. Callsign mentioned is K8A. Operators will be Scott/W4PA (owner of VIBROPLEX) and others. According to DX Magazine, KH8 American Samoa is now in the top 50 "Most Wanted Countries" in Europe on CW, digital modes, and the low bands. North American low band demand for KH8 will be substantial. According to DX Summit, the last spot on 160m for a KH8 operation was in 2006. The K8A operation will focus on CW and digital mode operation with the intent of reducing the overall DX demand from Europe and the need for low band counters in North America and elsewhere. The contest operation is secondary to the overall DXpedition goal of reducing worldwide CW and digital mode demand for KH8 as a DXCC counter. More details should be forthcoming.

M0, ENGLAND (Special Event)
Phil, G3SWH, will be active on CW only using the special callsign M0RSE over the weekend of July 2-3rd. Activity will be on all bands from 80-10 meters. All QSOs are welcome. There is more information available at:

http://www.m0rse.org
Look for the logs to be uploaded to LoTW after the operation.

However, for the first time they are also offering an opportunity for those living outside Canada's Maritime Provinces, and unable to join them in person, to participate in a Webinar version of the MDF. The Webinar presentation will happen in real time and allow participants to hear the speakers, view their visual material, and see the activity at the venue. The Webinar software system allows on-line participants to ask questions and make comments. Those living in time zones where joining them in real time is difficult will be able to download the program and view it at a convenient time.
