Siso, HK3W, will use the special callsign 5K3W during the
CQWW DX CW Contest (November 26-27th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/Low-Power

5Z, KENYA (Reminder)
Sigi, DL7DF, will be on holiday with his XYL Sabine
in Kenya between November 23rd and December 6th. He plans to be active as
5Z4HW and operate on all bands, 160-10 meters using CW, SBB, RTTY, PSK31
and SSTV as often as possible. The location is the Diani Beach at the

6O, SOMALIA (Op Cancelled!/Change of Plans)
Darko, J28AA/E70A, who was
expected to be active as 6O0DX from Somalia between November 21-30th,
has cancelled his operation due to security concerns in Galkayo. However,
Darko will now be active during the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 26-27th)
from Djibouti as a 10 meters/QRP entry.
8Q, MALDIVES
Operators Bert/CX3AN and Mario/CX4CR will be active as
8Q7HU from Maafushi Island, Kaafu Atoll (AS-013), between January 25th
and February 5th, 2012. Activity will be on 80-6 meters using CW, SSB
and the Digital modes. There will be a special emphasis on South America.
9G, GHANA
Mark, W8MP, an airline pilot who travels periodically to Accra
and plans to be active as 9G5MP, informed OPDX on Wednesday that he is
heading back to Ghana. This is his 3rd trip there this month. Look for
activity between November 25th and 1800z on the 27th. He plans to partic-
ipate in the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 26-27th) as a Single-Op using
100w and a dipole. He now has a QSL Manager - W3HNK.
9J, ZAMBIA
Niko, S53A, is now active as 9J3A from the Kafue National
Park (WFF-9JFF-003, WWL KH35) until November 30th. This is his fourth
operation from Zambia. Activity will be mostly during the CQWW DX CW
Contest (November 26-27th) as a Single-Op, possibly as a Single-Band
(10m) or All-Band (depending on conditions)/Low-Power entry. He will
operate from the rain forest, under the tent, with a generator. There
is no electricity, neither a Cell-Phone signal. This could be a very
dangerous operation with a lot of poisonous insects, snakes, crocodiles,
wild pigs or even lions can visit a tent in the middle of the night.

9N, NEPAL
Just a reminder to look for Dov, 4Z4DX, as 9N7DX during the
CQWW DX CW Contest (November 26-27th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/Low-Power

9X, RWANDA
Carl, SM6CPY will be active as 9X0PY from Rwanda between
December 24th and January 7th, 2012. Activity will be holiday style
on all bands but with a focus on the higher bands. QSL via his home

A5, BHUTAN
Shinya, JA2PSV, has been active in Thimphu as A52SV since
October and will be there until September 2013. Activity has been during
his spare time, mainly on 15/12/10 meters using CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK.
He uses a FT-450D running 100 watts into a vertical wire whip. Look for

AH2, GUAM
Members of the Guam Contest Club will be active as AH2R from
Tumon (OC-026, USI GU003S, WLOTA L-0064) during the CQWW DX CW Contest
(November 26-27th) as a Multi-Single entry. Operators mentioned are:

AO1, SPAIN (AAW Activity)
Operators Fernando/EA1GHT, Juán Carlos/EA1AUM,

be active as AO1POL (WAP-222) during the 9th WAP Antarctic Activity Week
between February 20-26th, 2012. Activity will be on 160-10 meters,
including the 30/17/12 meter bands, using CW, SSB and the Digital modes.
They hope to be in the CQWW 160m SSB Contest (February 24-26th, 2012).

The Czech-Slovak team, who are
active as C50C until November 28th, will now be active as C5C (not C5A)

EM0, UKRAINE (Special Event)
Members of the Black Sea Contest Club (BSCC)
are very pleased to announce their special marine mobile operations in
order to popularize the Club's activities between December 1st and February
28th, 2012. They will be using the callsign EM0BSCC/MM. As a member of Black
Sea Contest Club (BSCC), Yuri, UT1FG/MM, will be operating and will use the
above special callsign from his marine mobile station. Yuri is reportedly
here on business, so activity will be during his free time. Operations
are expected on all amateur bands 160-2 meters, 70cm including the Satel-

activating "Wet grids" as UT1FG/MM traveling across the Atlantic Ocean
starting on November 25th, informs OPDX that his ship is delayed and will
not arrive at the Panama Canal until December 7th.

Pierre, HB9AMO, will once again be active as HH2/HB9AMO from
Haiti between November 26th and January 8th, 2012. Activity will be holiday

II0, ANTARCTICA
Massimo, IW0HEU, is now active as II0ZM (WAP ITA-01)
from the Italian Mario Zucchelli Station at Terra Nova Bay in the Antarc-
tica until mid February 2012. Activity will be on 20 and 40 meters, SSB
only. Per his QSL Manager, Massimo is active between 0700-1000z and from
1800z and ahead. He works in the operation room and the equipment used
on HF (Ham Bands) is the same used for his QRL, that's why his time is
so limited. It is suggested to check the following frequencies: on 20m -
14195, 14205, 14233 or 14335 kHz +/- QRM; on 40m - 7174 kHz. Logs are
sent weekly to his QSL Manager, so the cards are answered the same day
they arrive and monthly to those who request via bureau. QSLs will be

IOTA NEWS
AS-102. Yuri, N3QQ, will be active possibly as BO2YA/BW/N3QQ (he told
OPDX he is not 100% sure yet) from Kinmen Island between
December 3-6th. Activity will be on 40-10 meters using CW and
SSB. QSL via N7RO.
NA-240. (Update/NEW IOTA!) Members of the Russian Robinson Club (RRC) and with the support of the Bethel Amateur Radio Club (BARK) will activate the last new IOTA in Alaska in the Bethel County IOTA Group around January 5-8th, 2012 (depending on weather and transportation availability). The callsign will be KL7RRC/p. The group's main reason for this winter activation is to help jump start the RSGB IOTA Marathon. See details at:
KH2, GUAM (OC-026)
\Aki, JR3QFB/JD1BNX/W3JH, will be active as W3JH/KH2
from Guam between November 30th and December 5th. He informs OPDX that
his activity will be mainly SSB with some RTTY, and mainly on 17/15/12

The ARRL Letter
reports this week:
"Logbook of The World (LoTW) is continuing to accept and process logs, including logs from this weekend's ARRL November Phone Sweepstakes Contest. Currently, the processing delay is at 30 hours, down from 45 hours last week. As of November 23rd, there are approximately 857,000 QSOs in 3335 logs still waiting to be processed. If you have already uploaded a log, please do not upload it again; by doing so, you will only add to the queue. Do not send entire logs that contain previously uploaded QSOs; use the date range option when signing logs, selecting only those QSOs in a specific date range to upload to LoTW. By following these guidelines, you'll help LoTW process the backlog at a faster pace. Thanks again for your patience."

RI1, ANTARCTICA
Oleg, UA1PBA/ZS1ANF, will be operating as RI1ANF from
Bellinghausen Base (WAP RUS-01) from February-March 2012 until the end
of 2012 or the beginning of 2013. On the way on to Antarctica (end of
February) he will try to operate from the Icebreacker "Ak. Fedorov" as
callsign/MM. Alex, UA1PAW, is already at Novo Runway (WAP MNB-06) waiting
the license RI1ANR. He will be there until February/March 2012. Slava
(ex-UA1PAI) is on board the "Akademik Fedorov". He will be working at
the Molodezhnaya Base (WAP RUS-08) from mid-December 2011 until mid-March
2012 operating as RI1ANA, then he will be wintering with RI1ANF at
Bellingshausen. Slava and Oleg plan to activate the 160 and 80 meter
bands there. Ivan, R1ANY, is still active from Bellinghausen and will
end his shift next April 7th, 2012.
SILENT KEY
* It has been reported that Don Rohn became a Silent Key (SK) on November
22nd. Don was the former owner and CEO of Rohn Manufacturing (Rohn
Towers). OPDX and its readers, as well as the many of us who own
Rohn towers, would like to send out our deepest sympathy to the family
and friends of Don Rohn.
* It has been reported that Jean Pierre, F9RM, became a Silent Key (SK) recently. The specific date was not provided. He was licensed in 1948 and REF member 5570. He was a real DXer with DXCC Mixed 338/380 and Phone 338/379, and held the first place position on the IOTA Honor Roll for a long time. OPDX and its readers would like to send out our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of F9RM.
T2, TUVALU (Update/Contest Callsign)
Members of the "Pacific DXers"
continue to be active as T2T from Tuvalu (OC-015) until December 8th.
Activity will be on all HF bands, 160-6 meters using CW, SSB, RTTY and

T2V during the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 26-27th) as a Multi-Single
entry, while the other members of the team will continue to operate non-

TM100, FRANCE (Special Event/WAP Op)
Francois, F8DVD, will activate
special event station TM100SP (TM100 South Pole) during the whole month
of December. Activity is to commemoration of 100th anniversary of Roald
Amundsen's journey to become the 1st explorer to reach the South Pole on
December 14, 1911. Operations will be on HF bands, 40-10 meters, mostly
SSB, and his operation will count for WAP-225 for the "Worldwide Antarctic
