NOTE FROM EDITOR
These items would have been included into today's
bulletin, but I was on the road early this morning heading back to
Ohio (arrived 5:00 PM EDST) from Tennessee.
CY0, SABLE ISLAND (Update)
OPDX received the following from the team
on Sunday [edited]:
"As of 0000z on October 6th, the CY0P DXpedition team has 18,203 contacts in the log including 900 to Japan where CY0 is in the Top 20. Not sure on the departure date as it depends on the weather and the condition of the beach landing. We are scheduled for a Tuesday flight but schedules mean nothing when dealing with the weather and landing conditions! Right now Parks Canada advises the landing area has too much loose sand. We have been experiencing strong winds but nothing out of the ordinary for Sable. One of the fiberglass antenna masts broke in the strong winds but we were able to make repairs and it is operational again. We will keep operating until the last possible hour. Will keep you posted....... Murray Gary Rick CY0P Team"NCDXF PRESS RELEASE (W7OO Contribution Challenge) [edited]
"The Northern California DX Foundation is pleased to announce the establishment of the W7OO Contribution Challenge.Long-time DXer Bill Everett, W7OO, has issued a challenge to the world- wide DX community to contribute to NCDXF: Bill will match contributions received by NCDXF from October 15th to the end of December 2013.
This is a terrific opportunity to make your contribution count. If your employer has a matching contribution program your gift of $50 will result in $200 to NCDXF! There are many DXpeditions coming on the air over the next year, so please take this unique opportunity to have your dollars count and make it possible for NCDXF to support additional DX expeditions. As a reminder, for those contributors who file United States income tax returns, contributions to NCDXF are tax-deductible as NCDXF is a Section 501(c)(3) entity with the IRS.
For over 50 years, NCDXF has funded major DXpeditions to many Most Wanted countries. The credit for these large grants goes to the NCDXF contributors who make DX like this possible. Have you contributed yet?
