EDITOR LOOKING FOR COMMENTS/SUGGESTIONS:
Well, my weekend did not
start off right. My main radio, Yaesu FT1000MP, decided to lose its
output power on Friday. Power on all bands is 10-15w, except on 15m
(25w), 80m (60w) and 160m (100w) [very strange]. Anyway, I am looking
for suggestions/recommendations to where to send it for repair, or
if it's even worth it to have it repaired? Any comments/suggestions
is greatly appreciated......
Thanks and 73 de Tedd KB8NW

Operators Lars/LB2TB, Morten/LB8DC,

(OC-003), Cocos (Keeling) Island between March 14-26th. The team is calling
themselves the "Dipper DX". Activity will be on 160-10 meters using CW,
SSB and RTTY. The focus will be 160/80 meters. They reported on January
21st, on their Web page: "Focus areas! Besides the normal CW & SSB activity
on higher bands, there will be a focus on low bands. VK9C is quite high up
on the most wanted list when looking at 80M and 160M activity. We will pay
attention to the difficult parts of the world from Cocos (Keeling) Islands.
U.S. East Coast being almost the 'antipode' is probably the most difficult
path with very short openings. Special attention will be given.
Please respect when we say US EAST ONLY. Not only along the coastline, but 'East'. All others will be worked, when we are through the short openings. We have also received requests from South America to pay attention. Europe and Asia will have greater opportunities. We might focus on Central Asia and Central Russia as well. At those times we may ask Japan to stand by. Europe will be a challenge too. Working eastern Europe, and not hearing west or north Europe. Please also respect when we ask for West or northern Europe. And, please, do not call on top of stations being worked! This will slow down the QSO rate severely. RTTY will also receive attention. Want to get in the log? Follow the DX Code of Conduct!"
QSL via their OQRS on ClubLog (preferred) or via their QSL Manager LA6OP, direct or by the Bureau. Log will be uploaded to the LoTW as soon as possible after the DXpedition. For more details and updates, see:
