Thanks to the Northern Ohio Amateur Radio Society, Northern Ohio DX Association, Ohio/Penn PacketCluster Network, AB5K & the AR TelNet Clusters Network and N7NG for the following DX information. FROM THE ARCTIC CIRCLE, NORTHERN FINLAND October, 11th, 2018 POLAR BATTLE UNDER THE NORTHERN LIGHTS STARTS THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 13, AT 12.00 UTC The Scandinavian Activity Contest (SAC) is a matter of equality when some two-hundred Polar Contesters gather, gaze under the Aurora Borealis and flex their muscles under somewhat equal conditions. The snow is now settling at 60 degrees North, and the Polar bears are already preparing their dens and fattening up for their long and dark winter rest. But at 1200 UTC Saturday, October 13, the Polar People will be at it for 24-hours solid with no rest. Go and get them all The Scandinavians -- and provide them some radio meat during their winter preparation. These include the LA, OH, OZ and SM folks, as well as the rarer OH0, OY, JW and TF types. The Radio Arcala flagship, OH8X will be piloted by Pasi, OH6UM while the Aland Island outpost, OH0X, will be activated by OH2BH, OH2GEK, OH2MM, OH2UA and OH8NC. You may also catch the seasoned Azores Island site, CR2X, beaming North, remotely controlled from the Aland Islands. OH8X QSL via OH0XX, OH0X QSL via OH2TA and CR2X via OH2BH. The recent OH0T operation by OH2GEK and OH6VDA was to prepare the actual event. OH0T QSL via OH2GEK. So go and get them all and salute your Northern friends.
