Again nothing has been posted on any of the 3Y0I media Web pages during the past two weeks. It has been very quiet. The DX community continues to be anxious for this DXpedition to take place. Nothing else to report this week and no other details. Departure dates are still not known. It is still a mystery... If things change, we will send out a special bulletin. Remember, it takes 12 days to get to Bouvet from South Africa, and they plan to stay on the island for at least 2 weeks if the weather cooperates. Willy has received the news that the 60 meter band is OK to use from Senegal. It's also possible, he says, that he will give FT8 a try from there. AS-063/ Members of the Russian Robinson Club (RRC) activate two IOTAs AS-152. in the Khatanga Bay region during a two week period in July. Operators mentioned are Vasily/R7AA, Eugene/UA6EX and Leonid/ UA7A. They will operate from Popigay-Ary Island (AS-063) first, signing as R63RRC between July 24-28th. They will also operate from Bol’shoy Begichev Island (AS-152) signing as RQ73QQ between July 30th and August 2nd. Activity will be on 40-17 meters. (NEW IOTA) If you missed the special OPDX.1401.1 bulletin, operators Martti/OH2BH, Nigel/G3TXF, Niko/OH2GEK and Gerben/ PG5M are currently activating Inakari Island as OH10X until February 11th. Conditions are very cold with local temperatures on the island dropping to around -20C (-4F). Kataja/Inakari Island has been added to the list by the IOTA Committee in October 2018 as EU-192. The team travelled by snow mobiles several kilometers out over the frozen seas of the Bothnian Bay to set up camp on Inakari Island, using a Finnish abandoned fisherman's refuge. P29, PAPUA NEW GUINEA (Update). Last week we mentioned that operators Derek/G3KHZ, Hans/SM6CVX and Eddy/K5WQG, who were going to activate two IOTA islands as P29VCX and P29NI in the coming weeks, have announced their activity from OC-025 and OC-153 were cancelled and came to an abrupt end "due to security issues". Well more details came out this past week and Hans, SM6CVX, reported that they had been robbed, and all of their gear was taken. Logs are still intact for the QSOs (on OC-025) they made, and they will QSL once the cards are printed. Unfortunately, Wolfgang, DM2AUJ, had to cancel his trip to Kanton due medical reasons. We have found another operator who will joins us, it is Norbert, DF6FK. Norbert is an SSB operator and has been regularly active from the Pacific in the recent years. There is a slight change to our frequency plan. Some frequencies have been adjusted to avoid overlap with XX9D DXpedition." The following was sent out on February 4th [edited]: VP6D - Ducie Island QSL cards were mailed on Monday, February 4, 2019, from the United Kingdom. The mailing included all OQRS and Direct Mail confirmation requests received by this mailing. Also included were cards shipped to foundations/ clubs for distribution. Subsequent mailings will occur on a regular basis. Bureau cards will be shipped to the worldwide bureaus at a later date. Suggested frequencies are (updated): CW - 1823.5, 3526, 7026, 10102, 14026, 18086, 21026, 24906 and 28026 SSB - 3805, 7095, 14210, 18120, 21275, 24955 and 28465 RTTY - 3590/3599, 7044, 14090, 18099, 21090, 24917 and 28090 FT8 - 3573, 7074, 10136, 14074, 18100, 21074, 24915 and 28074 kHz FT8/DXM - 3570, 7071, 10133, 14077, 18097, 21077, 24918 and 28077 6m - 50105/CW, 50120/SSB, 50313/FT8 and 50323/FT8(DXM) kHz DXM = DX Mode They will operate with 15 experienced operators 24 hours daily with at least 4 stations. The 5th station will be monitoring 6 meters or will be active on short-waves as well. Their special focus will be on North America and the low-bands 40-80-160m. They will have separate antennas for each of the low-bands. For 20 to 10 meters they will have a 2-element beam combined with a pentaplexer which allows them to operate with 3 stations simultaneously on the higher bands.
