QSL via RK1PWA.

MAITRI Station (WAP IND-03)
Many are requesting a QSL route for the two callsigns being used at the Maitri Base: VU3AXA and VU3BPZ. The QSL Manager for Dr. Bhagwathi, VU3BPZ, who will be at Maitri Base for 1 year, is his younger brother in India. However, no one seems to have his address. It is recommend to hold-off sending QSLs until VU3BPZ provides everyone with an address. Watch the WAP Web site.

QSL to his home callsign.

C6, BAHAMAS (IOTA Op)
Bill/NE1B/C6AWB and Tom/C6ANM, who were active this past weekend in the CQ 160 SSB Contest, are expected to be active in the upcoming ARRL SSB Contest. DXCC NEWS
* Bill Moore, NC1L, ARRL DXCC Manager, reports that the following operation is approved for DXCC credit:
VU4RBI and VU4NRO - Andaman & Nicobar Islands; Operation from November 30, 2004 through December 31, 2004.

* "Cardless" Five-Band DXCC testimony to Logbook of the World's value (Feb 24,2005) -- The ARRL Letter & Web page reports: "New Hampshire contest station KC1XX (chief op Matt Strelow) recently achieved Five-Band DXCC solely through contact data submitted to the ARRL's Logbook of the World (LoTW). With more than 255,000 QSOs already in the worldwide contact database, KC1XX recently was able to confirm 100 DXCC entities on 80 meters to qualify for the award. Because most participants have linked their DXCC data into LoTW, it is not always possible to determine band totals derived solely from Logbook confirmations. Major contest stations like KC1XX serve to demonstrate the value of participating in LoTW; however, these stations frequently do not have DXCC, and their totals are due entirely to LoTW-verified contacts. The largely single-op contesting and DX station of John Sluymer, VE3EJ, in Ontario, also has qualified for 5BDXCC through LoTW-verified QSOs, while several others are closing in on achieving 5BDXCC using the same route. Meanwhile, Brian Alsop, K3KO, in North Carolina, has already confirmed 221 DXCC entities entirely via LoTW."

ZK2, NIUE
Murray, VE7HA, informs OPDX that he and his wife Konomi are in ZK2-land now and he has his station on-the-air. The callsign issued is ZK2HA (not ZK2ML as previously advised). Murray states,

"SSB response on 20m has been good, but I haven't had much luck on the higher frequency bands yet. Conditions just aren't there. The vertical is installed about 200 metres from the open ocean on the northwest corner of Niue Island and about 3 metres high at its base. Therefore, I was able to install 14 raised radials for the 7 bands it works on. The Steppir BiggIR's ability to be retuned remotely in a few seconds is a great feature for portable operation. Niue avoided the three cyclones that have hit the South Pacific in the last month. Though American Samoa was hit badly by Cyclone Olaf as was the Cook Islands, we had nothing more than some wind and rain. We still plan to be here through to the end of March. I look forward to weekend contests when lots of stations are on with good signals."
