3V5, TUNISIA
Operators YT1AD, YU1RL, YU1AO, YZ1BX, 4N1JA, 4N1NM, RW3QC
and RK3AD will be active as 3V5A during the CQ WW DX SSB Contest(October
29-30th) as a Multi-Single or Multi-2 entry. QSL via YT1AD. The group
will be there until October 31st. Outside of the contest, look for them
on all bands and modes on CW, SSB, maybe RTTY. Also, they will try to
spend as much time as possible on the WARC bands.
CU2, AZORES (Update/Press Release). Jarmo, OH2BN, provides the following
update from Martti, CU2/OH2BH:
CQWW SSB: SEVERAL SINGLE-BANDERS ON FROM THE AZORES, CU-LAND In spite of heavy rainfall and high winds, typical for the Azores in the middle of the Atlantic, a group of visiting OH contesters were able to set up their stations on the island. They are ready to provide you with a CU multiplier and observe the potential of this westernmost point of Europe for serious contesting. The OHs are the guests of Jose, CU2CE, at the northern end of the island with an open shot to the Northern Hemisphere. You will hear Jose, CU2CE, on 160M, Martti, OH2BH (CU2B), on 80M, Pertti, OH2PM, on 40M and Toni, OH2UA (CU2A), on 20M. Outside the contest you will hear them with a portable CU2 indicator. CU2A and CU2B QSL via OH2BH.
DXCC NEWS

EA6, BALEARIC ISLANDS
Juan, EA6LP, is planning to participate in the
CQWW DX SSB Contest (October 29-30th) as a Single-Op/All-Band entry.
Look for activity on 80-10 meters, possibly 160 meters. QSL via his
home callsign.
EA8, CANARY ISLANDS
Valery, RD3AF, will be active as EA8EW during the
CQ WW DX CW Contest (November 26-27th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/High-Power
entry. QSLs will be sent automatically via the Bureau.
EA8, CANARY ISLANDS
Operators from the Gran Canaria DX Group will be
active as EA8ZS in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest (October 29-30th) as a Multi-
Single entry. QSL via operators' instructions.
EK, ARMENIA
Operators SP9ERV, DJ0MCZ/SP9UON and SP9LJD (supported by
EK6YL and EK6TA) will be acive as EK0B during the CQWW DX SSB Contest
(October 29-30th) as a Multi-2 entry. QSL via SP9ERV.
H40, TEMOTU PROVINCE
Just a reminder that members of the Korea DX Club
KDXC) will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Korea Amateur Radio
League (KARL) by going on a DXpedition to the Temotu Province in the
Solomon Islands, between November 5-11th. Six operators will have two
stations active on all HF bands 160-6 meters (including the WARC band)
on CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK31. The callsign H40HL will be used for their
activity on Nendo Island (OC-100) in the Temotu Province. They will use
H44HL on Solomon (OC-047) before and after their operation on the Temotu
Province. The six operators mentioned are Choi Jong-Sool (HL5FUA),
Kang Ho-Jun (Team Leader: DS2AGH), Lee Ju-Dong (DS2BGV), Yun Yong-Ju
(6K2AVL) and Yu Byeong-Jo(6K2DJM). They will use five beam antennas, two
kinds of vertical antennas and one dipole antenna. QSL via their QSL
Manager HL1XP direct to: Jeon Seong-Tae, 58-1 Nonhyeon-Dong Gangnam-Gu,

HK, COLOMBIA
Pedro, HK3JJH, will be active in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest
(October 29-30th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/Low-Power entry. QSL via his
home callsign.
HR, HONDURAS
Dan, HR2DMR, will be active in the CQWW DX SSB Contest
(October 29-30th) as Single-Op/All-Band (80-10m) entry. Also, look for
him on 40 meters around 7225 kHz.
IOTA NEWS
NA-114. Operators Jacques/F1BCS, Jean-Marc/F1HDI, Gilles/F5JBE, Pat/
F6CMH, Olivier/F6EIE, Daniel/F6EPD, Connie/F6GAL and Yves/F6JMV
plan to be active as TO5S from Les Saintes Island, Guadaloupe,
November 2-12th. Activity will be on HF and 6 meters CW, SSB
and PSK-31. QSL via F1BCS.
J3, GRENADA (Update)
Operators AC8G, N0VD, J37LR (VE3EBN), W8QZA/6 and
N0KE will be active as J3A as a Multi-Op entry for the CQWW DX SSB
Contest. Phil, N0KE, announced this past week that the group will be
using a Cushcraft 8040 vertical modified for 160m and a couple of pennants
for RX. If time permits they may try another xmit antenna. The team will
leave the island on November 2nd. Look for them outside of the contest
using their own J3 callsign, possibly operating as J3/homecall. Their
sunrise is 0958z and the sunset is 2145z. They will spend some time on
CW and maybe RTTY (probably not RTTY on 160).
JT, MONGOLIA
Khos, JT1CD, announced this past week that the following
stations will active from Mongolia in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest:

JW, SVALBARD
Roger, LA4GHA, currently active as T98GHA until the end of
November, informs OPDX that he will be operating from Bear Island (EU-027)
between December 1st and June 2006. His callsign will be JW4GHA. His
activity will be on 160-2 meters,and on CW, SSB and the Digital modes.

SPECIAL EVENT
To commemorate the 2000th anniversary of the Roman City of
Nijmegen (Noviomagum), a special callsign, PA2000N (PA "two thousand" N)
has been issued. The callsign will be used during the period of November
26th until December 11th. This includes a Multi/Multi entry in the CQWW
CW Contest. A crew of local hams will air the callsign as much as possible
in the indicated period. A special QSL will be printed, and you can send
your QSL via the Dutch QSL Bureau (R35) or direct to the manager PA0KHS:

T8, PALAU
Operators Yutaka/JQ2GYU and Mihoko/JJ2VLY will be on vacation
and will operate T88YU and T88LY from November 20-25th. Activity will be
limited to their mornings and evenings. Look for them on 80-6 meters using
CW and SSB. QSL via their home callsigns, direct or by the bureau.
TO4G, GLORIOSO ISLAND
Dany, F5CW, announced:
"The Glorioso Islands CDXC DXpedition could finally take place from March 17th to April 7th, 2006, after the hurricane season. We cannot carry out this operation earlier because of various logistic and safety problems. We are expecting a team of 8 operators with, if possible, 5 all bands stations, all modes. I point out that the team is only made up members of the French forces which will travel by tactical transportation means. It is why the operation can at any time be postponed or be cancelled. We are conscious of waiting imposed for some time for the activation of this country but we want to carry out this operation under the best conditions."QSL Manager for this operation will be F5OGL. TOP 5 QSL MANAGER SURVEY
Just a reminder that the annual "TOP 5 QSL
MANAGER SURVEY" will begin on November 1st, and end January 30th (2006).

YB0, INDONESIA
Gyuszi, HA2VR, is now active again as YB0/HA2VR from
Jakarta, until November 4th. He will operate on 30 meters and the upper
bands. He has plans to be in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest as well. QSL via
