http://www.skycc.info/4o60bh

#2 (November 19, 2006)
The 4O60BH on-the-air birthday party has passed the halfway mark as far as its radio part is concerned. This happened at 0000 UTC on November 19 when the total reached 4000 QSOs, and the party switched into a true birthday mode. High bands have caused something of a disappointment, but 75/80M has compensated a great deal. The 80M band saw 4O60BH penetrate both Japan and USA with several hundred QSOs into each of the two major regions.

This activity will continue for another 24 hours and move into party time mode on Monday with a Reception and a Birthday Dinner. Some 200 Lucky Draw (QBH) numbers are given out, but you still have time to get yours. The Lucky Draw will take place at the Monday Dinner, and the winners will be announced at the same time.

S9SS GOING QRT FEBRUARY 2007!
Charles Lewis will retire in February 2007, and finish his work as IBB VOA station manager on the Island of Sao Tome where he is known as S9SS (aka A22AA, S92SS, SV0LM, SV5/SV0LM, A25/KY4P, KY4P). In his deserved retirement, he and Lesley, S9YL (aka S92YL, SV0LN, N3TIA), will live in the mountains of the northwestern region of North Carolina in the USA. His S9SS LOG is uploaded to LoTW. Paper QSLs can be confirmed by his QSL manager N4JR. S9SS log on-line can be seen on Danilo's home page at:

http://s50u.s50e.si
By the end of February, more than 80000 QSOs will be sent to:
http://logsearch.de/
All of his logs for callsigns prior to S9SS exist only on paper; however, he plans to create files of at least some of them for submission, little by little, to the LoTW over the next few years. It will require typing the data for about 100000 QSOs, so he perhaps will never finish the work. He will do the A25/KY4P log first.

VK, AUSTRALIA (SSTV)
Peter, VK6AAL, reports that there is a very active SSTV group on HF on 14230 kHz with SSTV Live Webcams, and they are monitoring the frequency around the clock. He states, "Stateside stations are heard on occasions, and if they are aware of our presence, good DX contacts are possible both on the LP between 23:00 to 00:00 UTC and some times on the SP between 11:00 to 14:00 UTC. Our problem down under is breaking into local traffic in the U.S. as we are often beaming into the sides of the stations in the U.S. who are sending pictures North and South in their transactions. On the odd occassions when we have been able to make our presence known, then signals of 5/7 with good picture quality is possible. All that is required is a 3 element beam with about 70 watts pointing down under:-)". Peter wants to let more SSTV operators in the U.S. know the stations in VK-land are there and eager to work stations LP or SP. They have an elaborate array of SSTV Live Wecams to monitor DX; some on fixed antennas others on Beams that track the propagation. Visit his SSTV Live Webcam at:

Propagation permitting, they plan to have two stations on the air for as many hours every day as is possible. Their main objective is to work as many European, North American and ROTW stations on as many bands as possible. QSL via G3SWH, either direct with SAE and adequate return postage or via E-mail for a bureau reply or via the bureau. Phil's E-mail address is: phil@g3swh.demon.co.uk
