4W, TIMOR-LESTE (Update)
Juan, EA9IE, informs OPDX that the Spanish group
going to Timor-Leste left Madrid, Spain, yesterday Sunday, June 8th, at
19:00 local time (1700z) to Paris, Singapore, Darwin (Australia) and Dili
(Timor).
Juan states, "It will be a 32 hour trip and the schedule for landing in Timor will be around 08:00 local time on Tuesday, 10th." The whole Tuesday will be devoted to collecting all the goods they sent by sea freight a few months ago, installing equipment in the house they rented, picking up their licence and buying some goods and foods that they will need. Juan mentions that hopefully late in the evening they will try to begin and activate one of the stations.
As this operation is not a DX operation but a radio solidarity operation, they would like to be efficient every second, so they kindly request that everyone in the next two days put spots on the cluster by stations that are heared in the following zone: VK8, YB, 9M, DU, P2 and V8 (please included the real report that is heard).
It will help them and the pilots stations by collecting that info and being as efficient as possible. After Wednesday, when they send out their first CQ, please, everyone should do the same, include in your spot the real report of 4W6R.
BTW (By the way), Juan, EA9IE, is one of the Pilot stations for 4W6R. Just a reminder that members of the Union de Radioaficionados Espanoles, URE, (The Spanish Amateur Radio League) will be active as 4W6R between June 10-24th.
