9L, SIERRA LEONE
Just a reminder that the members of the VooDoo Contest
Group will be active during CQWW DX CW Contest (November 28-29th), signing
9L5A. This year the operators are Ned/AA7A, Nick/G3RWF, Fred/G4BWP,
Bud/N7CW and Gary/ZL2IFB. They will enter the contest as a Multi-Two
entry. Their activity in the contest will be on all six contest bands.
For pre-contest activity, there may also be some operations on 30/17/12
meter bands and RTTY. QSL 9L5A via G3SXW (see QRZ.com). G3RWF may also
activate his 9L1NH callsign, and AA7A his 9L7NS callsign. Please QSL via
their home callsigns. There will be no daily logs, but LoTW upload will
be done soon after returning home. No cash donations are requested for
this project just the usual USD/IRC for direct cards.
9M6, EAST MALAYSIA (Update/Callsign Change)
Tony, KM0O, is currently
active as 9M6LSC (not 9M6/KM0O as first reported) from the Langkah Syabas
Beach Hotel club station until November 30th. Look for him to be in the
CQWW DX CW Contest (November 28-29th) as a Single-Op/All-Band entry.

A3, TONGA (Island News/Update)
Dave, W6ZL/A35KL, informs OPDX that he
is now on Lifuka Island (OC-169) at the QTH of Paul, A35A [ex. A35RK].
He states, "Last week, I visited Andrea, IK1PMR, and the A31A team, now
operating from Otu'haka resort on the western side of Tongatapu Island
(OC-049). They have been busy working down the pileups on 30 and 40 meters
CW and RTTY while assembling the rest of their contest antennas for a
Multi/Single entry in CQWW DX CW Contest." See their Web page at:
Dave also mentions, "Paul and I plan to do some antenna work here and will operate the CQWW DX CW Contest as individual Single-Op entries." Listen for Paul as A35A Single-Op/Low-Power on 80 meters, and Dave as A35KL Single-Op/All-Band/Low-Power.
CE0Y, EASTER ISLAND
Lars, SM6CUK, will be active as CE0Y/SM6CUK through
December 6th. Activity will be CW only on all bands including 30m. Look
for him in the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 28-29th) as a Single-Op/
All-Band/Low-Power entry. QSL via his home callsign, direct or by the

CR5, PORTUGAL
Operators Marq/CT1BWW, Zoli/HA1AG and Con/DF4SA will be
active as CR5X in the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 28-29th) as a Multi-
Single entry. They will have two fully equipped stations using 2 Spider-
beam Yagis on 40-10m, and wire verticals on 40/80/160m using their 12m,
18m, and (for the first time) 26m fiberglass poles. This will be a
temporary setup; an installation will start 40 hours before the contest.

CW7, URUGUAY
Operators Pedtro/CX5BW, Tom/CX7TT and Fred/K9VV will be
active as CW7T from La Paloma, Rocha, during the CQWW DX CW Contest
(November 28-29th) as a Multi-2 entry. QSL via K5WW.
DT8, SOUTH SHETLAND ISLANDS
Sang, DS4NMJ, will once again be active as
DT8A from the South Korea's Antarctic King Sejong Station which is located
in the Barton Peninsula, on South Shetland Islands (VP8/h, IOTA AN-010)
for 14 months. He will be leaving for VP8/H-land on November 29th and is
expected to be there between December 5th (2010) and January 31st (2011).
Activity will be on 160-10 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY. QSL via HL2FDW.
E2, THAILAND
Wara, E21AOY, from Nonthaburi (near Bangkok) on the Island
of Koh Phangan (AS-101), is always active QRP (4 watts). He is expected
to be on during the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 28-29th) as a Single-Op/
Single-Band (15m)/QRP entry. QSL via E21AOY.
E2, THAILAND
Paul, HS4DDQ, will be active as E20WXA during the CQWW DX
CW Contest (November 28-29th) as a Single-Op/Single-Band (40m)/Low-Power
entry. QSL via E20WXA.
EA9, CEUTA AND MELILLA
Petr, OK1FCJ, will be active during the CQWW DX
CW Contest (November 28-29th) as EA9/OL8R and EA9/OK1FCJ before the
contest. He informs OPDX that he plans to set up 2 verticals: one from
SP7GXP (40-10m), and the other one from DF4SA Spiderbeam 18m (160/80/40m).
Petr mentions that this will be a temporary set up, and he will be running
only low power. QSL via OK1DRQ or by the Bureau.
FO, FRENCH POLYNESIA
Operators Jacques/F6BEE, Phil/FO8RZ, Nigel/G3TXF
and Gilles/VE2TZT will be active between February 9-25th (2010). They
plan to use a special callsign (TBA) and be active on 9 HF bands, 160-10
meters with a strong effort on the lower bands (160/80m). Also planned
are entries in the CQ WPX RTTY and ARRL DX CW Contests. QSL via G3TXF.
FM, MARTINIQUE
Operators Olivier/F6ARC and Mike/FM5CD will be active as
FM5CD during the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 28-29th) as a Multi-Single/
High-Power entry. QSL via F5VU.
FY, FRENCH GUIANA
Operator Didier, FY5FY, will be active as FY5KE during
the CQ World Wide DX CW Contest (November 28-29th) as a Single-Op/All-
Band/QRP entry. QSL via FY5KE.
H40, TEMOTU PROVINCE
Operators Siegfried/DK9FN, Bernhard/DL2GAC and
Hans-Peter/DG1FK will be active as H40FN (CW), H40MS (SSB) and H40FK
(Digi-mode), respectively, from Ngarando/Reef Islands (OC-065) between
February 619th (2010). Activity will be focused on 160/80m (using their
famous LOBSTER 2-element multi-band vertical), but they will operate on
160-6 meters depending on the band conditions. QSL H40FN via HA8FW, H40MS
via DL2GAC and H40FK via DG1FK. QSL cards will be sent out automatically
via the Bureau. However, for those who want to receive their QSL cards

HG0, HUNGARY (WFF Op)
Members of the Regionalis Radios Sportklub Puspok-
ladany (HA0KHW) will once again activate more Hungarian National Parks
during the month of December. Look for them to be active as HG0WFF/p from:

HH2, HAITI
Steve, VE2TKH, is now active as HH2/VE2TKH from Petionville
(South East) Haiti. His license is valid between November 23rd and
December 15th. Activity will be limited between 0100-1100z due to power
availability. Operations have been mainly on CW with a focus on 30/20/17/15

HR, HONDURAS
Operators Victor/N8OO and Andrei/NP3D will be active as
HR2/N8OO and HR2/NP3D, respectively, between December 10-20th. Activity
will be on all HF bands using CW, RTTY and SSB. Also look for Victor to
participate in ARRL 10 Meter Contest (December 12-13th) and Andrei in
OK DX RTTY Contest (December 19th) as HQ2S. QSL via the following:

HS0, THAILAND
Finn, HS0/OZ1HET, will be active as HS0AC (the Radio

HS8, THAILAND
HS8KGG will be active during the CQWW DX CW Contest
(November 28-29th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/Low-Power entry. QSL via

IOTA NEWS
AS-127. (Update/Rare IOTA) Last week we reported that operators Tutul/
S21RC, Manjurul/S21AM, Sohel/S21S and Aminul/S21D were preparing
a DXpedition in February 2010 to St. Martin's Island located
in Chittagong Region Group. The operation will take place
between February 21-25th. The group has requested the callsign
S21DX. St. Martin is the only coral island in Bangladesh (S2),
and there is also a lighthouse on the Island (WLOTA #2351)
very near their camp site. There is no electricity and no motor
vehicles on the Island which makes the air interference free.
They team plans to have two stations on the air with a few
antennas like last time. To power the stations they will use
1KVA generator and 2x 115AH batteries. QSL Manager will be
EB7DX. The group is looking for sponsors/funds. A Web page

NA-191. Operators Gunter/TI7WGI, Andreas/DH8WR, Rene/DL2JRM and Jens/ DL3ALF will be active as TI7XX from San Jose Island between December 30th and January 5th (2010). OC-042. Alex, DV1UBY, continues to be active as 4D1N from Quezon City, on Luzon Island (OC-042, WLOTA L0081), The Philippines, until the end of the year. His activity has been on 40/20/15 meters using only 10 watts. Look for him to be in the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 28-29th) as a Single-Op/All-Band entry QSL 4D1N via DV1UBY, by the Bureau or direct.
OC-197. Adhi, YB3MM, will be active as YB3MM/P from Bawean Island between December 4-9th. Activity will be limited to 15 meters CW. QSL via IZ8CCW.
IRC REMINDER!
Alan, VK4AAR, and many other QSL Managers would like to
remind that in about 5 weeks time, the IRCs which many have been using
for the last few years will no longer be valid at the post office. The
"31st December 2009" is the deadline for the current style ... but best
to stop using them by end of November to allow transit time. The new
one has the expiry date of "31st December 2013"... just above the "UPU"
logo at your right-hand side. PLEASE START USING THEM IMMEDIATELY FOR
SAFETY.
IU9, ITALY
Fabio, IT9GSF, will be active as IU9T from Sicily during the
CQWW DX CW Contest (November 28-29th) as a Single-Op/All-Band entry.
QSL via IT9GSF. He states this is a serious attempt as SO2R (Single-Op/
2-Radios). Fabio will have yagis on 4 bands, a vertical on 80m and a
an Inverted L on 160m at 21m. He will use beverages for RX. He adds,
"Extremely good location for USA and Asia on the low bands (800m asl
and slope terrain)."
J3, GRENADA
Tom, VE3RSA, will be active as J38XJ during the CQWW DX CW
Contest (November 28-29th) as a Single-Op/QRP entry. QSL via LoTW. Tom
informs OPDX that his activity outside of the contest will be CW only,
mostly on 40/20/15 meters, and depending on conditions possibly 10m. He
will operate until December 3rd.

Entity Survey" took place in Japan in September by "The PaperDXers". The

Consortium (CCC) will once again activate Signal Point Station on Curacao
(SA-006, WLOTA LH-0942) as PJ2/homecall through the end of November.

Algarve STAR DX Team reports that 90% of the direct requests for the
4W6AL QSL cards were sent out on Monday, November 23rd. Some cards
were received this past week from several stations in Europe. The other
10% will be sent out next week.
Algarve STAR DX Team reports their last CR6A activity from Fuzeta Barra Lighthouse - East Point (POR-116) ended on November 22nd! They had 5 stations on 5 bands and worked 2500 stations. Logs and pictures will be online very soon on:

SOUTH AMERICAN TOUR
Ghis, ON5NT, will once again be on a South American
trip through Brazil and Uruguay in December. He informs OPDX that there
will not be any activity from Brazil as there is no reciprocal license
between ON and PY (He states, "I can't get a PY license. Operating with
my CEPT license/PY does not seem to be fully legal."). However, Ghis
will be active from Uruguay between December 12-17th. His callsign will
be CX5NT. As this is holiday trip, he plans to be active mostly during
the local evening/night hours. So check 30m (10107 being his preferred
frequency) and 40m (CW in general) will be the best options to catch

ST, SUDAN (Update/Callsign Change)
Robert, S53R, will be active as
ST2AR from Khartoum during the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 28-29th) as

and December 1st. His activity includes the CQWW DX CW Contest (November

TX1, NEW CALEDONIA

TX3, CHESTERFIELD ISLAND
Only a few more days to work operators George/
AA7JV and Tomi/HA7RY as TX3A before they depart for Australia on December
1st (not December 6th as reported earlier - QRT on November 30th - a delay
could happen because of WX). As of print time their log shows just under
35k QSOs. Activity has been on all HF bands but with an emphasis on the

V6, MICRONESIA
Operators Mike/KM9D and Jan/KF4TUG, aboard the "Don Henry",
are reportedly heading to Pohnpei. No other details were reported. Stay

ZONE 23 (Top-Band DXpedition)
Peter, RX0AE, is planning a TOPBAND DX-
pedition to Zone 23 by the end of 2010 (November-December). He wants to
use the best propagation conditions and work as many DXCC entites as
possible. He states, "The expedition will require a lot of preparations.
I would like to know your opinion - is Zone 23 still on a top of Most
