This week's bulletin was sent out earlier
than normal to accommodate the late CQWW WPX SSB Contest announcements.

3V, TUNISIA
SWL Ashraf "Ash", 3V4-002 (KF5EY), will be active as 3V8SS
from the "Radio Club Station of Tunisian Scouts" in Sousse, during the
CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 27-28th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/Low-Power

50TH CELEBRATION (Update)
Last week we mentioned that Seppo, OH1VR,
would be active from Curacao (SA-006, WLOTA LH-0942) between now
and March 30th. Since then we found out that he is celebrating his 50th
anniversary in Ham Radio and plans to be in the CQWW WPX SSB Contest
(March 27-28th) in Curacao as a Single-Op/Single-Band (15m)/Low-Power
entry. Seppo also plans to be active from Aruba on March 29th, as P41CW
for 6-8 hours. He is also planning to be active from Crete as SV9/OH1VR
between April 15-21st.
PLEASE NOTE: Seppo plans to make 12 mini DXpeditions
in 2010 - about one per month. Those of you who work him at least from
eight (8) destinations will participate in a drawing of three small gifts
in January 2011. You are invited to join this "lottery". For more details

CQ8, AZORES (Brand New Prefix For The WPX Contest)
A press release sent
out by Martti/OH2BH and Jarmo/OH2BN states: "March 27-28 Weekend -- For
the first time, the Azores Islands will be active under the callsign CQ8X
in this weekend's WPX Contest, featuring a multinational team of CU2CE,
CU2DX, DL6LAU, N6RC, OH1TV, OH2BH, OH2UA, OH6KN, OH6RM and OH8NC. They
may even put another station on as CR2X to push for more Xtremes. Please
kindly update your CTY file. This not only marks Arcala Extreme's (OH8X)
Annual Meeting, now held in the Azores, but also forms part of their 3rd
anniversary activity - OH8X, from Arctic Circle will be there as well
courtesy of Marko, OH4JFN. As part of the upcoming festivities, the 2nd
phase DX Summit will be made available to limited Beta testers for Easter.

EB8, CANARY ISLANDS
Operators Pekka/EA8AH, Juan/EA8CAC, Manuel/EA8ZS,
Sal/EA5DY, EA5FDV, Toivo/ES2RR and Jussi-Pekka/OH6RX will be active as
EB8AH during the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 27-28th) possibly as a
Multi/2 or Multi/Multi entry. QSL via LoTW.
FK, NEW CALEDONIA
Some members of the Noumea ARC (FK8KAB) are repairing
the club's tower which will be set up again very soon. Claude, FK8IF,
reports that a multi-band Spiderbeam has been purchased, and it should be
delivered in about under three weeks. Also, another center fed antenna is
under construction for the lower bands. At the moment, a dipole is used
for 20 meters and some openings to Europe are observed in the FK evenings.
Claude is on the air every evening between 0600-0800z, between Monday
and Friday, on CW between 14005-14015 kHz, using the club's callsign,
operating barefoot. QSL via FK8KAB, direct (QRZ.com + return funds and
SAE) or via the French Bureau.
FR, REUNION ISLAND
Cedric "Ced", F4EGZ, is once again active as FR/F4EGZ
from St Pierre until April 19th. Activity will be on 20-6 meters, including
17/12m, using a Hexbeam for HF and a 3 element wire beam for 6m. He also
plans to be in the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 27-28th) as a Single-Op/Low-
Power entry, but only on 20/15/10 meters. QSL via his home callsign.

H2, CYPRUS
Spyros, 5B4MF, will be using the special prefix callsign H22H
during the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 27-28th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/
possibly as a QRP entry. He states, "If things run smoothly, I will
continue QRP, otherwise I may switch to a higher power category." Please
note that H22 is a unique prefix for the contest as nobody else will be
using the special prefix. QSL via 5B4MF, direct (address on QRZ.com), by
the Bureau or LoTW.
IOTA NEWS
EU-074. Members of the Union Francaise des Telegraphistes (UFT) and
the Clippertton DX Club (CDXC) will be active as F8UFT from
Brehat Island (DIFM MA-012, WLOTA LH-2010) between April
7-12th. Activity will be on the HF bands using CW, SSB and
the Digital modes. Operators mentioned are: Jean/F5IRC,
Christophe/F5UBH, Francois/F5JNE and Jean-Claude/F5IL. QSL
for this operation ONLY is via F5UBH, direct (w/SAE and
return funds) or by the Bureau. PLEASE NOTE: A SSB/Digital

JX, JAN MAYEN (Update)
The Jan Mayen DXpedition set between July 4-16th,
2011, (see OPDX.949) and lead by Stan, SQ8X, has announced their team
of operators. Currently, they are: Stan/SQ8X (team leader), Pete/SQ9DIE,
Vicky/SV2KBS, Decan/EI6FR, Leszek/NI1L, Tomek/SQ9C, Bernie/HB9ASZ, Pekka/
OH2TA and Deon/K6WH Deon. The group plans to be on the air for 10-12 days
with 2-3 stations. More detils will be forthcoming later this year.
JY, JORDAN
Abdalla, JY5CC, will be active during the CQWW WPX SSB Contest
(March 27-28th) as a Single-Op/All-Band entry. QSL via direct to JY5CC

NEW QSL ROUTE. Joe, W3HNK, is now the QSL Manager for Arvo, ES2MC, in
Estonia.
VQ9LA NEW QSL ROUTE. Larry, VQ9LA/N0QM, informs OPDX that starting
April 15th, 2010, his new QSL route will be via N0QM: Larry Arneson,
705 Rhodes Ave, Grandview, MO 64030, USA. The reason for this change
is that Larry's plans are to depart Chagos Island, December 2010. All
QSL cards sent to the FPO Box will be honored up to December 2010. Larry

Members of the GMFF Team
Activity from North Bass Island will
be sponsored by the Massillon Amateur Radio Club and will be active
between 1200z Saturday, July 23rd and 1600z Sunday, July 24th. Callsign
will be N8B or maybe N8B/P. Suggested frequencies (on or near) are:
SSB - 7250, 14250-260 and 28450
CW - 3530, 7025, 14040, 18098 and 21040 kHz.
There will be some 6 meters after they are officially recognized as
Ohio-06L after 25 QSOs and two countries. Listen for QSL information
by the operator.
Juha, OH9MM, will be active as OG0Z during the
CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 27-28th) as a Single-Op/Single-Band (15m)
entry. QSL via W0MM. Also, look for Raimo, OH3BHL, to be active as
OH0Z during the contest as a Single-Op/Single-Band (20m) entry. QSL
also via W0MM.
In last week's bulletin (OPDX.952) there was
a typographical error under "WRTC 2010 (Russia)". The city listed for
"NCDXF" was incorrect and it should have been "Redwood City" (not Emerald
Hills).
Six international YLs will be active as
OX6YL from Kangerlussuaq on the western edge of Greenland between September
16-20th. Activity will be on the HF bands using CW and SSB. Operators
mentioned at this time: Inger/OZ7AGR, Unni/LA6RHA, Ingrid/LA8FOA, Ruth/
IT9ESZ, Evelyne/F5RPB and Waltraud/DJ6US. A Web site is currently under

during the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 27-28th) as a Multi-Single entry.

Andy, AE6Y, is once again active as P49Y until March
30th. His activity will include the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 27-28th)

Members of the Araucaria DX Group (ZW5B)
will activate their club station as PY5GA during the CQWW WPX SSB Contest
(March 27-28th) as a special tribute to their beloved friend Olav, PY5GA,
who became a "Silent Key" (SK) last Sunday. Olav was a major elmer to
many of the members of the Araucaria DX Group. QSL via K3IRV.
9M0M QSLS STILL AVAILABLE. Tru, VE6TP, states that QSL for the 2001
9M0M Spratly Island DXpedition are still available. He received a
QSL via: LAKE POWELL COMMUNICATIONS INC., KXAZ FM KPGE AM,
P.O. BOX 1030, PAGE, AZ 86040. OPDX did some more research and found
the QSL route for this operation is via NA7DB, direct or by the Bureau.
Operators Nils/SM6CAS, Steve/G4EDG,
Mike/K9AJ, Derek/G3KHZ and Steve/9M6DXX are now active as T32MI from
Malden Island. Their length of stay is not known. Activity will be
80-10 meters using CW and SSB. For more details and updates, visit the

Siggi, TF3CW, will be active as TF1CW during the CQWW WPX
SSB Contest (March 27-28th) as Single-Op/Single-Band (40m) entry. QSL
via LX1NO.
Silvano, I2YSB, and a team of Italian operators will activate
Gabon during the first half of October. The team also intends to activate
an IOTA in the Estuaire Province Group (AF-043) during this DXpedition.
Also, the low bands are expected to be one of their major goals. No other
details have been provided other than the pilot station will be IK7JWY.
An opened survey on I2YSB's Web page is now available to list your wants
for bands and modes at:
Nasran, V85ZX (ex-V88NIZ), will be in the CQWW
WPX SSB Contest (March 27-28th) as a Single-Op/Single-Band (20m)/Low-
Power entry. He will use a Yaesu FT450 with a home-brew rotary dipole
antenna. QSL via V85ZX (see (QRZ.com)).
Neil, V73NS (WD8CRT), who is just finishing up his
operation from Kwajalein (OC-028), will be deploying to Afghanistan
at the end of April. Neil told OPDX that once there, he will have his
radio sent to him. He states, "I will be QRP and I will be 100% CW."
More details should be forthcoming. QSLs for his V73NS operation should
be sent direct via W3HNK.
Operators Neil/G6MC, Lee/M0LMH and
Andy/ZC4VJ will be active as ZC4T during the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March

Right before going to print, Carl, N4AA, from
"QRZ DX", sent out the following note from Bob/ZK3YA and Bill/ZK3OU:
"We pull the plug at 2359z Friday, March 26 (1259 Friday local time),
just as the WPX contest starts. We have over 28,000 Q's from ZK3 and
over 50,000 total for the trip. Our intention is to upload all logs
for our 5W and ZK3 operations to LoTW within a month of our return.
Hopefully that will make a dent in the QSL volume we face."
